Making a difference for local children and young people

Have you ever thought that it would be good if there was more for children and young people to do locally?

Over the last few weeks Connecting Neighbourhoods CIC have been trying to give the local children some exciting and entertaining activities with our ‘Up Your Street’ art and play sessions.  The children certainly seem to have had lots of fun and we have enjoyed working with them!   Whilst we've been working with the children, they keep asking when we are coming back. 

So - what can be done to keep the youngsters happy and occupied this summer?  One idea we have needs a few parents to join us to set up an activities club.  This can be once a week after school or on Saturday and also during the holidays.  We can help you to set up the club, look for some funding to get it going and work alongside you to help get it established.

'Street Play' session cancelled

Unfortunately due to the weather forecast promising strong winds and heavy rain it is with regret that we will be cancelling today's den making sessions planned for Webbcroft Road and Woodpecker Road.


We will re-arrange the sessions for a future date and post the new dates on this blog soon.

Webbcroft Road - 11am-1pm

Woodpecker Road 1:30pm-3:30pm

The 'not quite' 60 Minute Garden Makeover - Available to 6 families living in on the Bromford Housing Stechford Estate

How it works
The 59:59 Team will work with you to creatively design your area using the template below  and choosing from a range of plants, bulbs and accessories for you to make and plant. 


The team are: Andrea 'Knowles' Holmes
                        Janice 'Dimmock' Boyett
                        Dean 'Titchmarsh'  Paul  
                        Fran 'Barker' Littlehales.

.....and then the whistle blows and the 59mins:59secs begins. Time to all work together to make the creation a reality and a chance to pick up some useful tips and advice. Why not get all the family and the neighbours to join in.
